Meet The A-1 Guaranteed HVAC Team

Richard began A-1 Guaranteed Heating & Air, Inc. with his wife Krissy in 1996. His career in the HVAC trade began when he was 16 years old and got a job with his brothers at the same company they were at. He began as a shop boy in the warehouse. He also held other positions such as Service, Install and now owner. Krissy began her career in the HVAC when the business began. Having absolutely no previous experience in the field has provided an opportunity to learn something new every day. Prior to A-1 Guaranteed, she was an Admin Assistant, Billing Clerk and a Bookkeeper which has helped in the daily operation of the business. Richard and Krissy met while they were teenagers and have been happily married since 1989. When they began the business, they lived in a small 2 bedroom house and were pregnant with their 3rd child. They started in their garage. The company phone number was actually their home number that they used for the business and eventually had to get a personal number to keep the two separate. They have 4 children together, 3 of which are also in the business. A-1 Guaranteed became incorporated in April 2004.

Nick has been involved with the business since it began. As a young child he would help his father with multiple tasks such as helping on service/installs and fabrication of sheet metal and performing tasks when school was out. He would help in the warehouses and keep the shop cleaned up.

He holds numerous important certifications including Building Performance Institute (BPI), LG CHEM battery and Enphase battery systems and is Manual J, D & S Certified. Nick has held multiple titles in the company including Administrative work, Warehouse and Install. In his spare time, he participates in car shows, playing cards and bowling. He is happily married and enjoys spending time with his wife, dog and his best friend / daughter, Sophia. Nick is the company’s General Manager.

Casey has been in the HVAC trade for over 25 years. He began working in the trade by working at his uncle’s company. He worked there for 13 years before he began his employment with A-1 Guaranteed in 2009. He has certifications in Diamondback, Nate, Track Piping and Universal Refrigerants and Fujitsu Mini Split training and is BPI Certified. Casey has completed Title 24 Duct Installation, Standards, & Diagnostic testing.

He has a daughter who is currently in college. Casey is the Install Foreman and has become an invaluable team member to the company.

Kasey has grown up in the family business since she was 5 years old. She was the inspiration for A-1 Guaranteed when her dad had to miss one of her birthday parties since he wasn’t able to get the weekend off, prompting him to start his own business. She started out putting stickers and stamps on envelopes as a child and worked as an Admin Assistant while she was a student. Officially she began working for A-1 Guaranteed in 2005 and is our Special Projects Manager. She has overseen setting up the company with new scheduling software, project management processes, company trainings, and IT items. Recently, she took on payroll processing and other HR duties as well. She graduated with Honors with an Associate Degree in Business while working with the company.

Philip joined the A-1 Guaranteed team in 2018. Philip has helped streamline and organize the scheduling and processing of our installation projects, oversees data management and data integrity, and implements standard procedures for administrative operations. He has expressed his willingness to learn everything there is to learn about the Heating and Air industry.

Kasey and Philip are high school sweethearts who married in 2018. In 2020, they welcomed their daughter Elizabeth. They love spending time together as a family and seeing the world through the eyes of their toddler.

Joe has been in the HVAC trade for more than 25 years. He attended and graduated from Sequoia Institute. He is a BPI Certified Building Analyst Professional and is Nate Certified in AC Install, Gas Furnace Service and Gas Furnace Install. He is a type II technician certified in Diamondback Installation & is a Certified Heat Exchanger Expert. In addition to these certifications, he is also a Checkme! Program Certified Technician for AC Diagnostic Testing & Duct Diagnostic Testing and has completed various Fujitsu training.

Joe has been employed with A-1 Guaranteed longer than any other co-worker beginning his partnership with A-1 Guaranteed in 2001. Joe is married with one daughter. Joe has held multiple positions with the company and is currently a Supervisor for the Service, Maintenance and Install Departments, he has held so many positions that he was actually given a ‘special’ cape to wear to signify all of his knowledge in different positions. He got into the HVAC trade because he like working with his hands and the freedom of not being behind a desk.

Kirk has been in the HVAC business since 2007, joining the A-1 Guaranteed team in October of 2014. He has been through multiple trainings to sharpen his skills. The reason Kirk got into this field is because he enjoys meeting people and through his honesty, dignity and respect wants to make sure his customers get the best overall value for their money. He is married with one child.

Kirk is a Comfort Advisor who strives to find comfort solutions for multiple types of homes. He considers himself a happy go lucky guy and we would have to agree with him!

Matt has been in the HVAC trade with A-1 Guaranteed since 2005. He has grown up in this trade with a father, brother and uncles before him. He is NATE certified in Heat Install, AC Install, Heat Pump Install & Air Distribution. Matt has also completed multiple Fujitsu training and is BPI Certified. Matt has also attended and completed Sales training in Texas. He has been employed with A-1 Guaranteed since 2005. Matt is married with 3 young children.

Currently Matt is a Comfort Advisor and still helps out as a Senior Service Technician but has many years’ experience in the Install Department. He loves solving people’s heating and air conditioning repair problems and would be glad to help you solve yours!

David has been dabbling in the HVAC field for over 20 years. He has worked with A-1 Guaranteed off and on throughout the lifetime of the company finally becoming a full time employee in March of 2014. He is a certified welder and has knowledge in multiple trades of construction safety.
David is currently our warehouse manager. He orders, stocks and delivers equipment and supplies for all aspects of jobs. He enjoys hunting and fishing.

Diane has worked in Customer Service for multiple years. Her background consists but is not limited to being a foreclosure counselor and assisting in accounting departments. Her career with A-1 Guaranteed began in 2010 and was the first time she had ever worked in this trade. She is bilingual in Spanish and English.

Diane has 4 children and is a grandmother to 8 grandchildren. She is devoted to her family and their happiness. Diane has been our Install Admin and Maintenance Program Coordinator. She is currently our Accounts Administrator overseeing reports and funding.

Erik graduated from Tech School and has certifications in EPA 608, 609, 410A Safety Certification and Green Technology Awareness. Prior to switching to the HVAC trade, he worked for many years at a Grocery Distributor, when the company closed down; he decided to learn a new trade which led him to Tech School He began his employment with A-1 Guaranteed in 2017. Erik has 2 kids and is a Service/Maintenance Technician also assisting with Insulation Installation.

Jose began his career with A-1 Guaranteed in 2017. Prior to working with the company, he worked in the hotel and resort business.

Jose began working in our Warehouse and has worked in both our Service and Install departments.  He is currently working in our Service Department.

Austin has been involved in the business since he was a baby often showing up in ads promoting A-1 Guaranteed. Many customers have watched him grow from that baby into a young man. He officially began working for A-1 Guaranteed in 2016 but as a child he would apply stickers to brochures and pack promotional bags. Prior to his employment with the company, he worked in the food industry.

Austin’s first job as an A-1 Guaranteed paid employee was in the warehouse, where he was promoted to the Install crew. He is currently a Lead Installer. Austin is married with a daughter and another on the way. He has multiple animals including dogs, cats, and a bird. He enjoys spending time with his family and boating.

Courtney’s father is an HVAC Owner so she has grown up around it her whole life not to mention she has other family members involved in the trade. She began her career with A-1 Guaranteed in January of 2015 as a temporary worker. She proved herself as a value to the company and was hired on as a full-time worker. Courtney helps with multiple tasks within the company including handling permits, ensuring data quality, and has advanced as Assistant to the Special Projects Manager and Sales Department. Courtney is married and has a little boy.

Tyler was referred to the HVAC Industry by a family friend. He states his reason for entering the trade was to learn how to do something that is necessary and essential to people. Tyler began his employment with A-1 Guaranteed in 2021 and had already been in the industry for about 4 years. He is EPA 608 Certified and hold Nate Certifications for gas/heating and maintenance/service technician.

Tyler has always liked to be a hands-on type of person. He considers himself a hard worker and mechanically inclined making this a perfect career for him. Tyler is an Installer.

Kenya began her career with A-1 Guaranteed in 2020 as a Maintenance Dispatcher. In 2021 she changed departments becoming the Install Dispatcher. She holds degrees in Speech Communication and Business.

Kenya loves working with people making this career perfect for her. She likes to make people feel valued and appreciated. Kenya has worked in sales for a long time and believes that the key to success is first selling yourself. She likes to make customers feel like they are a part of the family.

Larry first started in this industry by building plenums in a shop. HVAC really caught his eye and inspired him to learn more. He was interested in how all of the components involved in an HVAC system work together. Prior to joining the A-1 Guaranteed team in March of 2021, Larry had been in the trade for about a year and a half.

Larry is looking forward to obtaining his EPA Certification and is currently an Installer. He hopes to expand his knowledge and grow in the trade. When asked about A-1 Guaranteed, he stated, “by far the best company I’ve worked for”.

Mason originally joined the A-1 Guaranteed in May of 2018. Prior to working with the company, he began working for his uncle’s Water Heater company. He has experience in residential, commercial, and new construction HVAC and plumbing. What interested him about the HVAC industry is that it’s challenging and everyday he learns something new about it.

When Mason is not at work, he enjoys working on cars, fishing, and watching UFC fights. He has worked in the warehouse in the past and is currently an Installer.

Edgar joined the A-1 Guaranteed team in 2019. He is an installer.

Jake is new to the HVAC trade but has over ten years experience in construction including window installation. Jake actually was hired to assist the company owners in their personal home remodel at which time they were so impressed with his work, they offered him a job with A-1 Guaranteed. He became a part of the A-1 Guaranteed family in 2021. Jake is currently in the process of obtaining various HVAC certifications.

Jake has a son named Cooper and they both enjoy doing anything outdoors, including fishing and hiking together. Jake says he wanted to get into the trade for the challenge and knowledge it offers. He is looking forward to a TRUE lifelong career with a great company. Jake is an Installer who also assists with the Window Department.

Garfield began working with A-1 Guaranteed in 2023 after hearing about it from his family member Kenya who already works in the office. He started working in the HVAC trade straight out of high school where he held a custodial job and also worked at a local music store.

In his spare time, Garfield enjoys working on his 1994 Miata. He also likes to play the guitar and like many young men his age, plays video games. Garfield works in our Warehouse which includes making deliveries to job sites and organizing equipment.

Jessica began working with A-1 Guaranteed in October of 2022.  Prior to her employment with us, she was in the Restaurant/Hospitality Industry.  During that time, she wanted to find a new career that would allow her more time with her family.  Jessica saw a job listing online and decided to apply, already slightly familiar with the company as one of her good friends is also employed with us.  In 2021, she had taken clerical classes at Napa Valley Adult School which had prepared her with the experience necessary for the position.

Jessica enjoys spending time with her family and taking trips to the beach/lake/river.  She has stated she is married to her best friend and has a son and daughter.  She likes to stay positive and make people smile, with her cheery and helpful attitude, she is an asset to our customer.  Jessica is a Customer Service Representative.

Megan returned to A-1 Guaranteed as a full time Customer Service Representative in October of 2023.  Megan was literally born into the business two weeks after its inception (mom was 9 months pregnant with her when dad got his Business License).  She is one of the owners 4 children and grew up within the business as it itself grew.  She worked part time and assisted in multiple aspects of the business over her years growing up including not just office work but participated and volunteered in multiple vendor fairs and community events.

Megan moved away from California for 3 years yet periodically would assist with remote work while she was gone.  She has currently relocated back to the Bay Area.  Megan has an ECE Certificate and is currently working on becoming Forklift Certified.

Megan currently has a girlfriend and an adorable little dog named Beau.  She loves going to concerts, has 12 piercings, loves to watch the office and her favorite saying is, ‘Kachow’ which can be heard often by not just her but her co-workers.  Welcome back Megan!

Jorge began his career with A-1 Guaranteed in August of 2023.  He was looking into trades to join and as he states, “HVAC trucks and companies just kept popping up” so he took it as a sign and joined his first HVAC company in 2019.

One of the things Jorge likes most about the trade is that ‘you get to deal with a little bit of every trade doing this type of work’.  An interesting fact about Jorge is that every month he travels to Mexico.  Jorge is a Maintenance Technician.
