The Bay Area Green Business Program

This certification is great for business, great for communities, and great for the environment. The California Green Business Network runs the program throughout the entire state, and the project as a whole is funded at least partially by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

In order for an entity in the Bay Area to be certified through this program, it must be in compliance with all environmental regulations that are applicable to its industry. Once a business or organization applies for certification, onsite verification of environmentally sound practices is required. It takes two to four months for most entities to complete the process for certification.

Each of the nine Bay Area counties has a coordinator that can be contacted for more information and to apply for certification. The California Green Business Network is one of the leading networks in the country, and they work with small- to medium-sized businesses to encourage greener practices and greener communities.
